Limited Capacity seats available

Come play with the KIBO robot! You'll have plenty of hands-on time with this screen-free coding and robotics kit for ages 4-7, while you hear about ideas for integrating these activities with existing curriculum.

The Needham Public Schools have incorporated robotics within its first-grade classrooms as a fun and engaging way of introducing basic coding concepts to their youngest learners. Using the KIBO robotics kit, we have been able to integrate robotics to enhance any curriculum. Because KIBO is open-ended and hands-on, your youngest students can learn STEAM concepts, such sequencing and coding – and bring their robots to life.  We will share ideas on how we introduced KIBO to our first-grade students and provide examples of integrating it into STEAM learning initiatives, such as teaching wind and weather lessons. Come to this workshop to see how you can easily integrate robotics into your classroom to enhance any curriculum or theme with unlimited possibilities.

This session will address 'diverse learners' as defined by EEC.

I love learning! In particular I love learning about new computer science and robotics early elementary teaching tools and approaches. I am a heavy Scratch and ScratchJr advocate.
